|
This silver plated canister contains four trays of gambling chips, with each tray having chips of a different colour in 3 sizes. There is an additional dish to the base and the lid, which is engraved with the owner’s name, is gilt lined to perhaps act as the central pot. Sport and gaming was quite a large part of an officer’s life at the end of the 19th century and these chips could be used for a variety of games from cards to roulette. They are neatly contained for travel. The antique period is circa 1900. Packed Size given. |
