Antique Green Leather Box |
|
This green leather gentleman’s box is very well made and is lined in green velvet. The interior of the lid has a cushioned board with a lidded compartment to either side and a space to the middle which probably originally held a mirror. The brass hinges holding the lid to the box are exceptional quality and the box has a Bramah lock. Aside from the mirror, the only thing missing is a maker’s name which might be expected on such a quality box. The leather handle to the top is fitted with a brass plate engraved with a Baron’s Coronet and the initials L.R. below. Late 19th Century. |
