This large black and white photograph of a hotel at Mürren is attributable to the French photographer Adolphe Braun. Mürren is a small Swiss village with views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, sitting at a height of 1650m. Its only access is by mountain railway but it enjoys tourism all the year round. Bruan lived from 1811 to 1877 and was the official photographer to the court of Napoleon III. His work includes still lifes, Paris street scenes and topographical view of the Swiss mountains and Black Forest. Mürren is written to the mounting board. 2nd half 19th century.
