A small sized leather Square Mouthed or Gladstone Bag.
The bag is made from leather that has been passed through a rolling machine to give it a grained finish. The interior is lined in a dark red leather and has also been grained. The bag has a central slide lock (for which the key is missing) and two further slide locks, one to each side. Beneath the central lock is a ring to make it easier to open the bag. The fittings are nickel plated brass which has worn in places. The bag sits on four brass dome topped feet to slightly raise it off the round. This bag has been well made but is particularly attractive for its small size. Circa 1900.
