A large leather, Square Mouthed Kit Bag. The bag is locked by a brass turn clip to either end and a sprung lock to the middle. The interior is lined with linen that has 2 pockets to one side. The sides of the bag each have a hinged metal bar that will lock when its 2 halves are lined up and so keep the mouth in the square, open position.
The leather has been rolled to give it a grained effect and the bottom of the bag has 6 domed stud feet. The initials J.R.D.B. are stamped to the side. The bag is well made although there is no evidence of a maker's name and is of a good size. Circa 1900.
