A burgundy leather Jewellery Case with removable inner case.
The inner case serves both as a tray to the case but also as a separate case which can be removed to lock in a hotel's safe etc. It has two compartments, one of which has dividers to give a further two sections to take rings. As can be seen, its hinged to lie completely flat when used as a tray in the main case. The case is lined in red velvet and has a strap to the lid interior to hold further jewellery. There is no key but the locking catches work well.
The case is well made but there is no evidence of a maker's name. Mid 20th Century.
