A mahogany William IV round Occasional Table.

The table dismantles into 4 parts. The top has a bracing bar to its underside that has a threaded hole to receive the turned column. The column has a screw thread to either end and so fixes into the base. The fourth part is a turned collar that sits around the bottom of the column, where it meets the base, to give it a tidier finish. The base has three shaped feet to raise it off the ground.

The lack of glue to the threads suggests that this table was meant to disassemble rather than it purely being the construction method.

The small size of the table makes it useful for putting a lamp on or for using by the side of a chair etc. Circa 1835.
