A good quality, mahogany Decanter box.
The box has had its two internal dividers removed, which would originally have separated three glass decanters. Its quite common to see Dressing Case Boxes stripped out to give them a second lease of life when the contents are lost but less so with Decanter Boxes. The lock is by Barron and is also marked GR for King George.
The lid is held by two brass stay hinges and has skeletal campaign handles to the side. This is well made Box which now has a use for storage. Early 19th Century.
