A small, mahogany Ship's Corner Shelf.
The lip, to hold the contents in rough seas, indicates that this corner shelf was used on board ship. The decoration is simple with a thumb mould edge to the top and bottom. There is no need for any surplus decoration to this piece of furniture with its practicality being its main concern. Late 19th Century.
