A medium sized lizard or snake skin and silver plate Hip Flask.

Although less common than leather or crocodile, lizard and snake skin were also used to decorate and protect the glass of spirit flasks. The removable cup protects the bottom half of the cup when not used. There is no maker's name to this flask but the base of the cup is stamped with the size of 5 1/2 oz and with an illegible logo. The flask cap is cork lined and has a bayonet twist fitting to lock it. Circa 1900.
