A pair of pressed, nickel plated Travelling Candlesticks or Brighton Buns.

The pressing method of manufacture date these candlesticks towards the end of the 19th century. The most common form of pressed Brighton Buns are made from sheet brass and nickel or silver plated examples are not often seen in the market.

The two dishes also form the case for the candlesticks when packed. Once removed, the candle sockets (one of which has a thread and the other made to receive a thread) can be placed into one of the dishes. The other dish can then be screwed onto the first forming a case to contain them.

These are a good, clean pair of travel candlesticks and look to have had little use. They also stand out for the material they are made of. Late 19th Century.

Size of each for use is given.
