A small mahogany Chest Box with a compartment to the top and three graduating drawers below, to the front.

The drawers have turned wooden knob handles and are plain to the interior. Their fronts have a fine moulding line cut into them for decoration. The drawers are locked in place by a long, replaced brass pin which sits next to the lock for the lid. The box has gilt brass skeletal handles to the side but is nice for its plain look.

A note has been stuck to the inside of the lid stating 'My Dear Emily, I think I shall no use for this little chest at Hutterworth. I will give it to you if you like to have it. Your affectionate Aunt Anne Footner'. Although it is unlikely we will find the history of the original owner of this box it is a useful piece for storage. Early 19th Century.
