A rosewood Cavalry Box, wider than most in size.

The box is lined in red leather to the interior with the removable mirror to the lid also backed in leather. The top tray is lined but not fitted with dividers making it more versatile. The well below has dividers running the full depth of the box to each side with compartments to the middle. 2 have lids and one has a removable mahogany box with a slide lid. There is also a cologne bottle that lies on its side to the back and a round pot to the front. 2 more bottles, now missing, would have also fitted into the spaces either side of the lock, with corresponding holes to the box lid to take their caps. There is a decoratively shaped flush handle to the top which is elegantly engraved W. Glanvill. This is an earlier Cavalry Box and its wider size adds to its interest. Early 19th Century.
