Pith Helmet Inkwell

Pith Helmet Inkwell

Sold

A khaki canvas on brass Pith Helmet Inkwell.

The inkwell works as you would expect of most novelty inkwells. The top is opened by depressing a sprung button hidden by the canvas. The inner lid is then opened by another sprung catch to the side and the glass well is revealed. The inner lid has a sprung pad to give a good seal to the glass bottle. The base of the inkwell is curved to give a good impression of a Pith Helmet and it is squared off at the back. Both the lid and base have a band of canvas with the top band crossing neatly at the back. Circa 1900.
