Violin Inkwell

Violin Inkwell

£245

A leather on brass novelty Violin Case Inkwell.

The case is made of dark green leather, rolled to give a grain, on pressed brass. The case has a push button to release the top. The interior has the inkwell to the back with the lid released on a sprung catch. The lid interior has a sprung pad to form a good seal to the glass bottle. The long shape of the violin case lends itself to fitting a pen wipe brush to the front.

Although not marked, this inkwell was probably made in Germany, Austria or perhaps France. Circa 1900.
