A silver, knife and fork set in red leather case.

The cutlery is small in size and was likely for fruit which would tie in with the silver knife blade. The hollow handles are Kings Pattern, decorated with a floral design. Both pieces are hallmarked for Birmingham 1828 but the maker's initials are too worn to determine. The case is well made with a fitted velvet interior to separate and hold the cutlery in place. It has a chamfered edge to both the top and the base, tooled tramline decoration and an unmarked silver engraving plate to the top. Such cutlery would have been common for a gentleman or lady to carry. Dated 1828.
