A cast iron Ship's 32 lb Cannon Model on an oak carriage. SOLD
Although made to a reasonable size, this is not a small signal cannon as the bore to the barrel is only two inches deep. The oak carriage is well made with an elevating wedge and metal fittings but maybe later in date than the barrel.
This type of cannon was the main weapon on British naval ships for a long period of time. The barrel has a good weight to it and the model is a size that would suit a large mantlepiece or fireplace. Mid to late 19th Century.
