Sword Practise Watercolour
Sword Practise Watercolour
81746
The detail to this small watercolour is not sufficient to determine the exact regiment shown at sword practise. It's a heavy cavalry regiment though and the soldier is depicted slicing a fake head off a pole. To the fore front is a saddle with a trumpet, sword, rifle butt and helmet in front of a flag. This watercolour and the lancer are by the same, unknown artist. Although lacking detail, they both have a charm and show the cavalry regiments training. Framed in maple. Circa 1900.
