Crocodile & Silver Cigar Case
Crocodile & Silver Cigar Case
83840
A crocodile Cigar Case with a silver lip.
The cigar case is a standard design, lifted by both the use of crocodile instead of hide and the application of the silver rim to the outer sleeve. The silver is fixed by two pin rivets on each side and each sleeve is made from two pieces of crocodile leather stitched together with a raised seam.
The date letter for the London hallmark is rubbed but is for the early 1900s. The maker's hallmark of FS in two joined circles is for Franz Schiebner, a fancy leather goods manufacturer. One side of the silver is engraved with the initials W.H.S. This was a high quality, luxury item when first made and has stood the test of time. Circa 1905.
