An ebony model of a Ship's Cannon.
The cannon has a tapering, four stage barrel with touch hole. The naval carriage is a recent addition and its probable that the cannon was originally intended simply to be a model of the barrel without a truck.
The carriage has been quite well made though with metal fittings to the ebonized pine and a working screw elevator to raise the barrel. Mid 19th Century.
