A large Regent Plate Telescopic Travel Cup in leather case.
This folding cup is much larger than most and also stands out for having a handle, which also prevents it collapsing. Once the hinged handle is lifted off its fixing bracket, the three graduated rings will push down to rest one within another.
The cup is stamped to its underside Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 112 Regent Street W. Regent Plate. It also has the reference numbers 2607 and 2590 scratched neatly to the base. Regent Plate was a superior quality of silver plating offered by the company. The cup also has a gilt interior to further enhance it. The leather case has the initials R.A.S.B stamped to the top. Early 20th Century.
