Folding Antique Games Board by Mudie
Made by Thomas Mudie & Sons, this leather games board is made to fold for ease of storage.
When opened, the brass catches on the hinges slide to lock the board in position. Its baised interior will make any table fit for cards, dice or other games. If necessary it could also be set on the knees when travelling on, say a train or in a tent. The very dark blue leather has a grained finish and there is gilt tooling where it meets the baise. The maker's details of 'Mudie & Sons, 15 Coventry St. W' as well as the registration number of '315558' are also stamped to the interior in gilt. The registration dates the board to 1898.
