A Pair of Anglo Indian teak Low Coaching Tables.
These 2 tables fold in the manner of a standard English Coaching Table: releasing a locking bar to the underside allows the 2 halves of the top to fold parallel against each other on the X-frame legs. The difference to an English table are that the tops are panelled and it has an iron slide bar rather than a wooden twist bar to lock the tops in place. The table has diamond brass plates to the leg pins and the stretchers are rounded off at the edges.
The tables are well made and of course their low height and the fact there is a pair makes adds to their interest. Early 20th Century.
