Leather on brass Brighton Buns are hard to find, despite the fact The Army & Navy Store retailed them and one would imagine produced a great quantity. This pair are made of pressed brass with cast candle nozzles and certainly the quality of work is very good.
Also of note is the size of the screw thread which, when compared to those on most other pairs of Buns, is very small. The leather used is probably Russian Reindeer. Last quarter 19th century.
